การศึกษาชีววิทยาบางประการของปลาดุกมูล Bagroides macropterus Bleeker, 1853 ดำเนินการศึกษาในแม่น้ำมูลจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ตั้งแต่เดือนตุลาคม 2543 ถึงเดือนกันยายน 2544 โดยรวบรวมตัวอย่างจากชาวประมง ซึ่งจับปลาโดยข่าย อวน และลอบ ในแม่น้ำมูลเขตจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ทุกเดือนรวมจำนวน 360 ตัว เป็นปลาเพศผู้ 202 ตัว และเพศเมีย 158 ตัว มีความยาวมาตรฐานเท่ากับ 14.60± 2.17 เซนติเมตร และมีน้ำหนักเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 23.92± 9.99 กรัม พบว่าปลาดุกมูลสามารถแยกเพศโดยลักษณะภายนอกได้ชัดเจน มีสัดส่วนเพศในธรรมชาติเพศผู้ต่อเพศเมีย เท่ากับ 1 : 0.78 กินพืชและสัตว์ขนาดเล็กเป็นอาหาร สมการระหว่างความยาวและน้ำหนักปลาดุกมูลแบบรวมเพศคือ log W = 2.7198 log L - 1.812 (R² = 0.90, p < 0.05) ปลาดุกมูลเพศผู้คือ log W = 2.5723 log L - 1.654 (R² = 0.89, p < 0.05) และปลาดุกมูลเพศเมียคือ log W = 2.8026 log L - 1.897 (R² = 0.92, p < 0.05) ช่วงฤดูวางไข่อยู่ระหว่างเดือนสิงหาคมถึงเดือนกันยายน ปลาดุกมูลเพศเมียความยาวเฉลี่ย 16.5± 1.22 เซนติเมตร น้ำหนักเฉลี่ย 32.95± 6.85 กรัม มีปริมาณความดกไข่เฉลี่ย 9,685 ± 3,818.28 ฟอง มีความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความดกไข่กับน้ำหนักตัวปลาคือ log F = 0.8262 + 2.0669 log W (R² = 0.82, p < 0.05)

A study on some biological aspect of Bagroides macropterus Bleeker,1853 was conducted during October 2000 to September 2001. Total number of 360 fish specimens, 202 male and 158 female, were collected from the Mun River in Ubonratchathani province. The sample have average size was 14.60± 2.17 cm of standard length and 23.92± 9.99 g of body weight. The results showed that the secondary characteristic of sex different was obviously, sex ratio between male and female was 1 : 0.78. The analysis of stomach contents showed that fish was omnivorous. The equations of length-weight relationship of both sex, male and female were logW = 2.7198 logL - 1.812 (R² = 0.90, p < 0.05), logW = 2.5723 log L - 1.654 (R² = 0.89, p < 0.05), logW = 2.8026 log L - 1.897 (R² = 0.92, p < 0.05), respectively. Spawning period of fish started from August to September. An average fecundity was 9,685± 3,818.2 eggs from the average spawner’s size of 16.5± 1.22 cm and 32.95± 6.85 g. The relationship between fecundity and body weight was log F = 0.8262+2.0669 logW (R² = 0.82, p < 0.05)
